There was a fire at our cinema yesterday and one of the theaters was completely destroyed. I believe it is the top one, as the fire was in the roof area at the back part of the building - where that particular screen is located. Unfortunately that theater has the biggest screen, and is the one where all the big releases are shown. Harry Potter, Star Wars, Transformers, and thus the one that makes them the most money. It's also the 'old cinema' and had a lot of the very pretty original architecture and plaster work on the walls.
A friend of mine works at the cinema, but it happened at about 7am so no-one was hurt and there was no-one working. They blocked off half of the street though, which played major havoc with the traffic as the street that the cinema is in is off one of the main streets of the town.
Unfortunately they will lose quite a lot of money until they can get it fixed, which is a shame because the current owners only brought the cinema about 2 years ago.

Okay. So I won't be see Half-Blood Prince until Friday morning. Therefore I am going offline (from LJ) until Friday afternoon.

Uni starts back again Tuesday, although this semester I have three on-campus and one off-campus subject, so I'm at uni three days instead just one.

HBP is out on Wednesday. Yay! I'm hoping to go and see it after my classes. In the spirit of HBP and all things Harry Potter, I made a new icon post at bellatrixed. It's about time, I know. New layout again as well.

So far I have survived winter with just the barest hint of a cold. *stays inside with the heater running* Three days on campus might change that, but it's only three hours max so I can't see it affecting me too much, thankfully.

I can't get into hogwarts_elite & loyal_badger. I must have been expelled. I don't know why I was expelled. I'm sure I sorted enough applications. *pouts*

My grandpa passed away at 3am this morning. I woke up at 3am and the phone rang at about 10 past. That was my uncle ringing to tell mum that he'd gone.

Oh wow. I've been neglecting my LJ again. *pats it* It's okay, I'm still alive, just been a little busy. Thought I should check in though. :)

Wooo! Broke well over the 1K mark for the first time since I've done this whole thing. I'm really hoping to get the 50K by November 30. That'd be pretty cool, since I've only actually been able to commit properly once and that was a dismal failure. (Just over 1000 words in one month.) Trouble is I have exams on the 3d, 5th, 7th and 13th of November so I'm also trying to study as well.
I'm going to start filtering these posts so let me know if you want on or not.
